This tea brings back memories of my 21st birthday and my first full afternoon tea experience, it’s my Silver Needle Savoy Tea. You can buy it other places too, I’ve definitely seen it in Whittards.
This is a refreshing white tea originating from China and one of the most expensive variety and the most prized, as only the top buds are used to produce the tea. Silver Needle is Baihao Yinzhen in Chinese and should be fleshy, bright coloured and covered with tiny white hairs with a cucumber undertone. If you are not a fan of cucumber then don’t worry it’s not like you’re eating a chunk of it. Although there are other teas that for me will top this one, this will always remain one of my loves in a mug (or cup if you’re having at the Savoy). Recommended brew time; 5 minutes.
