Whether it be for the upcoming Easter weekend, a romantic break, or a spa break with the girls, we all need a weekend break.
Sprowston Manor in Norwich is a 16-Century Manor Hotel with an ideal blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. My aunt and I went to visit family we have in Norwich and decided to tie it in with a girly spa and shopping weekend. We arrived on the Friday night and was greeted by the very pleasant staff of the Sprowston Manor. Of course, we had chosen to make use of the spa and pool facilities so when I went off for my very lovely full body massage, my aunt made the most of the swimming pool. The spa was lovely, small but perfect and the girl who did my massage was very friendly. I loved the relaxation room where you waited in, they had water and tea – including one of my all time favourties Twinning White Tea with Pomegranate.
We went back to the room to relax for a little while before trying out the GIGANTIC bath! It was huge, amazing to be in but a little difficult to get in and out of (even I struggled). But once surrounded by bubbles and relaxing you could have easily lost over an hour in there.
For the two nights we were at staying we chose to eat at the hotel – and of course this post is mainly of pictures of the food because well I seem to be foodie in denial. To start I had the Scallops with Black Pudding Bon Bons. Wow. I have only just begun the post and by far these were the best.
For main I went for the Barbary Grilled Duck with my favourite dauphinoise potatoes. Followed by the most stunning Raspberry and Elderflower Creme Brulee for dessert. Excuse me while I order room service of that desert alone…
Saturday included some shopping, lunch with my Grandma and Grandpa and then more shopping. My aunt then had her massage that day, I thought about going in the pool but just wasn’t feeling it on the day. Wet swimming costume, chlorine in the hair (is it just me or where they pretty poor excuses?) Nevertheless, dinner is served. Service was not the best, we were waiting for what felt like hours compared to the night before. There was a couple behind us that got their food and were finished before we had had our main course.
Sunday concluded with a final massage. I was very lucky to have the same girl who knew which areas she worked on previously so not to do it so hard. I came out feeling refreshed, revived and ready for anything (just not work, not yet – Monday was closing on me too quickly). Although we only used the massage services at the Sprowston Manor the La Fontana spa was lovely, friendly staff and probably the highlight of my trip. Although, I took a detox from social media and my phone so you know no photos – sorry, I know I’m useless. But what you should do is consider this place for a weekend away. Why? Because it had the package, suits all kinds of need (from the men’s golf to the pamper day).
