Hello again all! I hope you had an amazing weekend, I was expecting to be mega busy and not have time to write any posts up but plans changed and I did so lucky for both of us!
I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Makeup Revolution 2 year anniversary celebration on Thursday 10 March at the stunning Café de Paris, London. I remember discovering the brand last summer holiday when I went away with a friend and she let me use her Iconic 3 palette, I loved it! The pinky and bronze shades were the exact colours I love to wear with a fairly good pigmentation. Now, it is a safe staple in my makeup collection. On the night I wore a pink smokey eye look created from the palette that made me fall in love with the brand – it seemed fitting. I then complimented this with my latest addition, Not in Love from their Iconic Pro range paired with a recycled wardrobe staple of the strapless black jumpsuit, the new pink heels, gold necklace and camera bag I felt pretty damn good.
The event kicked off with an a chance to see their best selling products and some new ones in there too – the British Beauty Blogger’s Fortune Favours the Brave palette is to die for, I want it so much. Luckily not long to go for that one, comes out on 17 March. The Director, Adam Minto, announced their new app (cool!) which will allow sneak peaks into upcoming products and – my favourite part – find store locations.
But here is the big news and the one I’m most excited to tell you about! #IAMFREEDOM was unveiled. Excuse me whilst I try and contain my excitement for this one. Oh forget it, eeeeeeeeep! In a nutshell:
- It launches in April
- 30 entrants will compete through 3 challenges to earn themselves a place in the live final in September (with celebrity judges)
- x4 runners up will recieve
- The winner will take home
All the figures stated in the presentation of the competition were doubled by Superdrug on the night!
Before I go on to tell you about the evening, I want to take a moment. I am not makeup artist or an aspiring one but I’m excited about this competition. Why? Beacause it gives a great opportunity to someone who is. I believe in success, and achieving dreams and the fact that everyone should get their chance at the dream. If this is your dream, I would encourage you to enter. As the lyrics of Coldplay once said:
If you never try, then you’ll never know.
Onto the rest of the party, I met some other amazing bloggers/vloggers – including Ali Caitrin and Emmaamazingemma (who has a blog and YouTube channel) are such incredible people so um, do go check them out! I partied with Emma until about 10.30pm with Scott Mills as guest celebrity DJ (Strictly fan girl moment right there and then! – especially when I got my selfie with him…eek). All in all, the guys behind a fantastic brand also know how to through a party!
Bye for now x
