A Guide to Perfect Outdoor Dining This Summer

With summer here (in between the rain), you’ve probably thinking about spending more time in the garden during the months ahead. And that means indulging in some outdoor dining. When you’re trying to think where to start, here’s your guide to perfect outdoor dining this summer.

Get the Right Equipment for the Job

If you’re going to prepare great food outdoors this summer, then you really need to have the right equipment. The most important thing to have is a strong barbecue with all the latest features. These days, they are very easy to use and keep clean, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time on it. You can prepare all kinds of food on a good barbecue, so don’t advantage of this. But there are things that you can’t prepare on the barbecue. For example, if you want to create your own homemade pizzas, you’ll need a Uuni Portable Pizza Oven. No matter what you’re thinking of cooking, make sure you have the best equipment this summer.

Keep the Drinks Cool

Keeping the drinks cool and protected from the heat of the sun is also important. You and your guests won’t want to be drinking warm drinks for the duration of the day. The best way to keep drinks warm, you’ll need to a cooler to store any cans and bottles in. But that won’t stop the drinks from getting cold when they have been poured. To stop that happening, you can use insulated cups that have a gel that stays cold, keeping the drink cold too. They are perfect for hot summer days when everyone is trying to cool down and stay hydrated at the same time.

Be Prepared for Bad Weather

There’s always a chance that the weather will spoil your outdoor dining experience. If it’s a big get together that you’ve planned in advance, you’ll be praying that the rain stays away. It’s always best to prepare for the worst case scenario though. You don’t know what the weather will decide to do, even if you expected it to be a bright and sunny day. You should have a plan for how you’re going to prepare the food and make space for everyone in the house if it does rain. A gazebo is always a good garden staple for the summer! For parties you can use for food or shelter if the rain does make an appearance. It’s a headache, but you can still have fun.

Keep Bugs at Bay

Whether you’re barbecuing food or just eating a picnic, you will have to face up to the problem of bugs. They will be determined to get to your food and destroy your outdoor eating experience. So, you need to come up with the best ways to keep them at bay while you’re preparing and eating the food. There are many methods that might help you out with that. Things like using repellent and burning incenses keep bugs away. And make sure that you clean up any food scraps and spills of drinks as quickly as you can. If you don’t, they will simply attract bugs to the spot where you’re eating.

I love going to garden parties (my aunt hosts fabulous ones in the garden) but you don’t need loads of space to have a great time. I don’t actually have a garden but I do have a communal grass area outside of my house and it makes for a wonderful picnic spot! What’s your favourite thing to do in the garden?

Much love xxx
