Valentine’s Date Style Tips

When I was at university I used to write a fashion blog on getting the latest looks and styles for less. Dissertations and deadlines got in the way and I just stopped doing it. But with the biggest night for dates coming up I thought I would share my style tips on valentine’s day date outfits (or even the single ladies night out).

Relate to the date

This might seem obvious but don’t let it slip your mind! Going bowling? Why not opt for a pretty top and converse with make up and a ponytail. Going for a dinner and don’t where your date is taking you? A casual smart dress or black jeans with a pretty top and heels. Pjs for home cinema date are a genuine option!

You want to impress yet be yourself, wearing an outfit just because you want to wow but realistically you can’t breathe or eat anything is just setting up for a fall – easier said than done but be yourself.

Gather ideas

Pinterest is great for gathering ideas together of what sort of look you want to create or to trial what different pieces might look like together. Take a look around, you never know you might even come up with an idea which works with something you already own. Check out my Pinterest board dedicated to Valentine’s Day Outfits.

Whilst the LBD is a always a trusty staple, navy is a really nice alternative. But for Valentine’s Day the pinks, reds and even burgundy have got to be in the mix somewhere. Oh so cliché – the important thing to remember whatever you go for is dress to be yourself. Don’t try and be something you’re not.

Accessories!

The simplest of outfits can be transformed with a statement necklace, stunning pair of heels or clutch bag. The accessories can transform an outfit without even trying – a simple dress with a gold necklace and patent black heels can really doll up an outfit. Or why not try a scarf with a plain tee and jeans? The possibilities are endless.

Are you going out on a date, having a night in or even a singles night out? No matter what I bet you’ll look stunning!
