As I write this late on a Tuesday evening, I am thinking of Lemon Drizzle Green Tea (my latest discovery) and the return of Great British Bake Off next week. Still not sure how I feel about the move over to Channel 4 (especially as my All4 does not want to work on my TV *sad face*) but nonetheless I somehow feel a little bit giddy with excitement. Whilst cakes and yummy mouthwatering deliciousness have my attention; the weather outside is not to be desired. It is wet. It is raining. It is miserable. So I’ve made the most of it with a candle, pjs and a cuppa but it’s meant to be the frickin’ summer.
Anywho, I digress… the weather reminded me of a business trip a couple of months ago where I was lucky enough to stay in the Stephenson Suite at Mottram Hall in Cheshire. This venue looked beautiful in the rain. And it got me thinking, it’s the bank holiday coming up and you might be thinking of sneaking a last minute trip in the diary (do it!) and looking for somewhere to go. Voila, my staycation destination of perfection (anymore tion’s in that sentence…?)
Whether you have an upgrade or a standard; every single room in this hotel is finished with the utmost quality and detail. From the tea/coffee station (priorities as always) to simple yet elegant wallpaper and let’s not forget the bed! Comfiest hotel bed ever. I literally had to drag myself out of it – but I really really
really didn’t want to.
Mottram Hall has a elegant and stylish restaurant called the Carrington Grill and even though I was only there for breakfast, it was delicious! You also have the The Claret Jug (in the golf clubhouse), the Champagne Bar & Library and also the Garden Room for Afternoon Tea.
The spa and golf course
Let’s face it golf is not my cup of tea but looking for something which caters for him and for her? Hello, Mottram Hall has it all. Relax in the spa with a variety of treatments, a pool and the UK’s first Alfresco ThermoSpace.
This place has been on my mind since I went there and I long to go again and make the most of more of the facilities but I highly recommend staying at Mottram Hall. Whether it’s planning ahead for a romantic getaway, a girls spa weekend, (dare I say it) a golf weekend – if I’ve been dreaming of a return visit, why not beat me to it and experience it for yourself?
